The 51Bowman Mantle PSA 7 just closed for $115,000. And it had some centering issues. The high before this was like $40,000.
It's just unbelievable. Clearly, some very wealthy people have entered our market and are just devouring things like money doesn't matter one bit
Posted these in another thread and just wow! The 56 Mantle 6.5 I used to own several years ago and sold my 8 because the 6.5 looked just as nice. I did grab a better example in a 5 and a 7.5, but that 6.5 was extremely strong. The 53 for $17k was 😳 I might have to get some doubles out to sell soon if this keeps up.

it's funny. i've had 4 people reach out to me tonight on my 51b psa 8 and if it was for sale.
people are coming outta the woodworks and in droves.
manipulation talk or not, pretty good indicator of the actual quality supply out there.
I agree high end is the first choice for investors/collectors...but once a card is beyond his or her budget, then the person moves to a lower grade and it soars in price. Case in point...check out KendallCat (Keith) msg above to this thread.
Tomorrow will be interesting on PWCC because the PSA-10 Henderson RC closes. No price would surprise me at this point, right now. It has 1500+ watchers or 3000 eye balls

Yeah. Totally crazy. The 66' Perez was mine (paid $830 about a year ago). I also had a 65' Yastrzemski that ended last night at $2225 which also was a record high for that issue.
Dang, I just sold my Carew RC 8.5 for $2700 a few months back. This market is crazy. I listed my 9 several months ago for $8k and it didn’t sell. I’ll be sitting on it now.
Here's another one, 1967 Frank Robinson PSA 9 for $3k+. That's a 10x jump over previous market price for a rather common superstar card.

Gem mint...it is difficult to know when to sell in this rapidly changing market. Collectors/investors will be sitting on cards until some stabilization returns to the market.
there is zero reason that the 51b mantle 8 shouldn't be a million dollar card, imo.

It'll eventually get there. Might have to wait some time but I have no doubt it'll hit it. Everyone chases the 52 Topps. Even when I was a kid, I knew what the 52 looked like and had no idea about the Bowman or what it even looked like when I was a kid growing up in the 80's and early 90's. But sit on it long enough and you'll be a millionaire.
considering the last documented sale was around $127k and we have two that are approaching $450k in active auctions w plenty of time to go, i think it shouldn't be too long. even though it's been way too long as is under the 52 shadow. and i love the 52, not trying to knock that one bit. more along the lines of the hobby head in that it's mantle and it's his rookie. and it's absolutely gorgeous. wake up hobby.
