1980 Nolan Ryan

Would love to land a 9 on this. I’m afraid back centering might move it down to an 8. I think it’s headed for a year long vacation no matter what. Since you guys love analyzing cards, throw out your thoughts.

PSA 9 requires 90/10 on the back, no worries there! Your corners might be another story.

Hard to tell what’s on the holder versus the card, but few things I see could hold it back:

    • Front bottom right chips
    • Front bottom left corner bump or could be on the holder.?
    • Back top left may be biggest issue

Centering is nice - back centering wouldn’t reduce the grade.

    7-8 range?

Others are better at this than me.

    Good luck.

  • Looks like it will net me a lunch from the dollar menu if it comes back a 7. If it lands in an 8 holder I’m takin the old lady out somewhere really nice. Might even let her browse the dessert menu.

Nice card, I'd say 7-8. If you're doing it to sell, I'd say go for it. If you're wanting an 8 in your collection, I'd say just buy one already graded.

Beautiful centering. Back centering is fine.

Bottom corners look "touched" and top left looks "funny".

Could easily land in a 7 or 7.5 holder.

    Check the surface carefully!

It would just be to sell it. It has been final cutdown day and I took one more glance through a box and found it.

psa 9. couple corners a lil soft for a 10.

    solid card, btw.

  • Looks pretty good. I would say an 8. I've never sent my cards in for grading. What did you pay to have it graded? Seems like it depends on the value, but how do you know value before the grading?

    know this card very well.

    solid psa 8.5.

corners a lil too soft. very solid card, though.

Nice card man, don't be discouraged even if it isn't a 9. Would be great for your collection regardless.

I cannot hit curveball. Straightball I hit it very much. Curveball, bats are afraid.

The lower right corner on the back. Is that a bend? Blown up pic for reference.

Top two corners are slightly touched so I would say an 8 on that one but it's a really nice card.
