2021 Topps Baseball - Autographed/Relic Cards That Really Aren't

BUYERS BEWARE
Topps is issuing reprints of previous autographed/relic cards, complete with the "Certified Autograph" and "Game-Used" markings, and any original serial number (such as "1 of 1"). Then on the back of the cards, in small print, they put a disclaimer stating that the autograph and/or relic isn't actually real.

That's shady.
Why would they even do that? They don't have enough cards to choose from?

What a terrible idea. Good luck searching for the originals on eBay now too. I’m sure no shady sellers will take advantage of the confusion.
Yikes. At least they have a “Through the Years” border and it’s not a full sized reprint card: https://www.ebay.com/itm/333888289913. It’ll be a hassle, but if you end up buying one of these - maybe the seller trimmed off the “TTY” border and pitched as an original - it’ll be very obvious when received and returnable as “not as described”.
