PSA Grading on Gretzky Rookie Card
Hello,
I own a Gretzky Rookie card that I pulled out of a pack in 1980. I actually remember paying $5.00 for the pack that I thought was crazy expensive then. I placed it in a safe with my grandfathers watch and forgot about it. My wife reminded me that I have this card in the safe and took it out when all this Gretzky craze happened. I sent it to PSA and it came back a "7". Since then I've shown this card around and everyone is telling me to resubmit as it seems to be a higher grade. I am worried that if I break the seal I might damage the card. I've looked around on ebay.... and they seem correct. The other "7's " really do not compare to mine. I'm new on this forum.... so if someone can explain how to upload images I would be most grateful and post this pictures.
Kindest regards,
Tom

A great story so Congrats, because a 7 is still a very good grade. You can resubmit under a review without cracking having to the crack the case.
A lot of the PSA 7's strictly are because of surface wear. I've had the same experience despite having a real hard specimen. Does yours show surface wear? If so that's likely why. Again a scan would help.
Nice 7s can sell for as much as weak 8s. I wouldn't bother doing anything and let the card speak for itself, not just the label.
If you have the pictures on your computer, one of the icons above the box in which you type text says "Attach Image". You can go from there.
