Rarely seen monster hits auction...

Anyone else watching this card? Can't remember the last time I saw one at auction. This is probably going to break some records and set all time highs

Pop 24 :o

think there's one already in play at heritage.

  • Crazy how long it's been since a PSA 10 hit the open market, and now there's two up for auction at the same time.

I'm still bitter over my two PSA 9s that aren't graded gem mint. I still can't find a flaw on either one, especially when I compare them to the cards up for auction.

there was a rash of fake ones in fake holders that hit the market a while back. i'm sure a lot of folks wanted that air to clear and folks/consignors/consignees wanted to be absolutely sure what they were holding was legit.

it's funny being offered the same card w same cert that you actually owned at the time. had it happen twice now. a hendo and 67 mantle 9.

it's funny how things work out like that though. kinda being forced to wait to put your card up but had you not, it woulda went for far less. it's almost like sub waiting times. in many instances, the value of what i sent in had gone up drastically vs what it woulda sold for had i got it back six months ago.

That chip on the bottom border would bother me.

I saw that auction as well. Two auctions for this card at once. Incredible

i don't normally condone physical violence, but good to see the auction stop taking that rare monster's crap and finally hit back.

I love the fact he is charging $100 on a card priced at $115,000. I can get free shipping on cards priced at $10. That extra $100 charge seems petty to me.

Agreed. Someone pays me $150,000 for a card I'm eating the shipping charge, insurance charge, signature conf. charge, whatever it may be. Seems to be nickel and dime-y

PWCC doesn’t own the cards they sell and there is zero reason they should eat the shipping costs. My bet is the buyer ends up getting an even larger shipping bill. The $100 is just an estimate and their grid shows $65 at 10k. With eBay some years back implementing sales tax in some states the shipping cost is the least of a buyers concern. It could end up being north of 10k.

well, brent is pretty smart (in certain aspects) so let's not kid ourselves here. he's not paying the base rate of usps, ups or fedex insurance rates, he's got a commercial insurance policy, coupled w a great rate on shipping from whatever carrier he is using these days.

what joe schmo pays to insure and ship this card by walking into a ups store is probably $200. brents costs is prolly under $50. well under actually.

  • so this ended last night for........

    $180,000+ what the heck?

    Thoughts?

I'm not surprised by the 180,000 price. Its a very low pop card.

... By an ex-NFL lineman, and they better not forget to stop at the balloon store.

The anxiety of it being mailed would be real.
