Cleanliness of submissions

My wife has 3 cats. All my card savers end up a little dusty/furry even when taken fresh from the package. I've sent them in as-is before and gotten decent results, but would a card's grade get dinged if one of those little hairs migrates into the sleeve itself during transit? Or do graders see that a lot and just brush those aside?

I'd need to build a hermetically sealed Dexter kill room to escape the effects of these (adorable) little monsters.

I don't know but I don't take any chances. I make sure the Card Savers are clean and void of hair and dust. Dust is my main concern. Sometimes it sticks to cards like velcro and looks like the card has print spots when it really doesn't. A light buffing with a cloth usually removes the loose lint.

  • I just got back into collecting cards after a long time away and never knew to dust down cards to remove finger prints..regretted not doing that to my Tyson rc,got and 8 but might got more if I looked for dust or fingerprints

I have this same problem in my house. I keep my cards inside double rowed card boxes w/covers inside of sealed tight totes in a room that my cats aren’t allowed yet the CS1s always collect dust. I ended up buying cheap CS1 sleeves to put each CS1 in but don’t actually seal them (PITA to open them later) and then sometimes I’ll the put them into larger sealed sandwich bags. It’s not perfect but there’s much less dust on them this way.

grab an ant-static desk mat. cs1s are a static factory, especially new outta the bag. dust and hair are like magnets. if not, take your cs1s out, shuffle them a bit and let them sit for a few days. counter intuitive, but the science is there.
