1992 Jefferson 5cent on copper? Is it possible

Found this in my change years ago and always thought it was interesting. Is it toning or copper? Any thoughts on how to be sure? Picture doesn't show true color but it looks like old copper penny's.

Thanks for any input

It would have to be undersized and underweight, and based on that year, mostly zinc (plated copper).

Your coin just appears to have environmental damage that caused it to discolor.

Ok thanks. If you saw it in person you'd understand because the color is spot on copper.

an old cent weighs 3.1 grams, a cent from that year weighs 2.5 grams. a nickel weighs 5 grams.

we see a lot of coins with the same discoloration. it is from environmental damage.

Yes I have a few that are copper color.

And don't forget, nickels are 75% copper and 25% nickel, so discoloration can go on the copper direction.

Your next step would be to weigh it.

Heat can also change the color of coins.
The gold nickel and the silver penny toned that color because of heat, they are not plated.
