Well, I got caught up in this card buying frenzy that's going on
Almost all the cards I have now that are increasing in value at staggering rates have been self subbed so I have been very lucky. That being said, there have been times over the last 10 years that I've wanted to pull the trigger on certain high profile cards but unfortunately didn't (1952 Mantle in a PSA 1 or 2, 1986 Jordan in a 9, etc....), only to see the chance of buying them sail away from the dock forever due to prices escalating beyond my minds ability to justify them.
I know there's a lot of debate going on here lately about what stage this sports card bull market is in, and while I don't participate in those threads I do read them. It's those type of threads that always seem to get me thinking about cards I've always wanted that keep sailing away from the dock while I just stand there and wave. Well today I stopped waving and got on board.
This is the eBay picture. I will give it a proper scan for this thread once I have it in hand.

congrats, I hope it continues to climb, I don't own one but subbed one for a buddy a few years ago and it pulled a 10. Have thought about seeing if we could work out a trade.
Congrats it is a great card to own.
huge card......congrats
Congrats on the pick up. I just overpaid on a beautiful card myself, as in above today’s market price!!!
I’m the same guy who paid $1700 for a dead centered $1000 rookie card 10 years ago. That card now sells for $10000.
I’ll always overpay for quality. It’s never hurt me in the past, nor do I expect it to hurt me in the future.
People know quality when they see it, and your card is a quality card.
Enjoy
Great Pickup, can't go wrong with Trout, can't believe I bought mine for $165 in 2016, thought I was buying on the high end back then, times have changed indeed.
Congrats. Huge card and a solid buy. Mike Trout is the modern day Mantle for baseball cards.
congrats, always fun to pick up a card you have been waiting on for a while
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
Thanks for all the kind words guys, it's very much appreciated.
@craig44 - Definitely exciting to hit the buy it now on an expensive card, but also a few kicks in the butt for me for not doing it much sooner and having to pony up.
I counted 50 PSA 10s have sold on eBay in February alone. I guess many are thinking just like you. Or they sold another card they had a 3000% gain on in order to get a Trout.
In November it was selling for about $2,500 so maybe some of those February are people playing the "buy in November and sell in February for triple" game that seems to be going on with every card ever made. LOL
Hiya Nick
Really nice pickup buddy!
I've missed the boat on just about all the high profile rookie cards since it's not in my real focus.
I did pick up a 2012 TH RC PSA 9 of Trout from a guy who sold me a badly scratched holder @ half off when I was shooting for a return.
I have picked up a few "3rd" best things like a MJ Kenner SLU 1988 PSA 10 for $167 which now will set ya back way more than a grand - some going as high as 1800.
Hope ya find a few more buddy.
Boom!
