I'll check my dresser top when I get home this evening. Got a hunch I might be a bit short, though.image

It's actually not that bad of a price.

  • Hey RGL...I think my son has a few Proof Set doubles he may let me contribute...some of those rare late 90's... And, I have a jar of unsearched pocket change I can toss in... Are we there yet?

That is quite an impressive set...and quite a few coins in that one if I remember correctly.
  • Dam* that 95s in 66dmpl is pretty.

    thanks for the pictures Michael.

That is a VERY nice set. Question for the other drooling Morgan fans, would you trade this set straight up for the 1933 St. Gaudens? They seem to be in the same ballpark as far as $$$ are concerned.

Interesting that there is no 1901 or 93-s.
  • Only 4 million? Let's see--where in the heck is my check book?image

I would take this set over the '33 Double Eagle anyday!

I think that would be a great set for those with the $. How many Morgans has PCGS graded MS68, and I saw at least 4 or 5 going through the first section of the set!

I also appreciate the nice pictures. Good luster showing.

    Mike,
I am curious about the pedigree from some of the coins in the Michael Casper set (now sold). They are attributed "NFL Set". Did the NFL buy coins as part of an investment strategy for unused capital? That seems like a risky venture for a corporation. Just curious.

The NFL Set was owned by Gregg Bingham a retired linebacker from the old Houston Oilers.
If It doesn't have great eye appeal, I don't want it.

  • Do you think those guys bidding in that auction even have $650,000.00.

The high bidder only has 14 feedbacks and 2 of them are negetives for being a dead beat non paying bidder.

The under bidder has 73 feedbacks but all he has been buying are low grade MS/AU morgans in holders from atleast 3 different grading services. Don't think he has spent over $350.00 for any of them but most are less than $100.00.

With a reserve in place and a BIN of $4,500,000.00 everyone knows the bid is not even close to the reserve.

Hell I think I am going to go bid $1,000,000.00.

Nice set! Where's the 93-S and 01? It's listed at 100% in the ATF.

    I agee with Littlewicher:

You can either buy this set or 1/2 of the 1933 $20 Saint. Duh!

  • What if Mike makes a mistake in the reserve and the $1,000,000 reaches the
reserve? Will you pay up or retract the bid?
