In looking at some of the Australian 1 d 's that I have accumulated over the years, I noticed a 1919 single dot- clearly not a double dot- but the obverse has what looks to be doubling at GEORGIVS V D.G. BRITT with the most significant doubling starting at the first G and continuing through the third G. The most distinct doubling is at the RG VS of GEORGIVS and the V D and G that follows GEORGIVS in the legend. There is no evidence of doubling on the opposite side of the obverse legend. So my first question was asked above- Is there a known DDO for this coin? I have been unable to find any reference to one. Given the numismatic interest in the double dot variety, I would think if this were a DDO, it would have already been discovered. And maybe it has been discovered and it is one of those varieties that has yet to recognized by a TPG and is just waiting to be part of the mainstream

Even by strict standards, the coin in question should grade in the 45 -50 range- The crown and jewels on it are bold, separated and distinct. It is fairly attractive for the date/type. And I mention the grade because it has survived in a decent state of preservation.
