I was looking at my Prizm stash and just noticed that almost every cover boy on Prizm Football has had hobby issues (or more) one way or another. Is there a curse?
2012 - RG3 - bust
2013 - EJ Manuel - bust
2014 - Johnny Manziel - super bust
2015 - Andrew Luck - retired
2016 - Zeke/Wentz - Zeke is ok, Wentz is out of Philly
2017 - Winston/DeShaun Watson - winston is already out and Watson is in some big drama
2018 - Zeke/Saquon - Someone at Panini must really want to Zeke to flame out, Saquon - torn ACL
2019 - Haskins/Prescott - Haskins - bust, Prescott - broken ankle
2020 - Joe Burrow - torn ACL/MCL/Every CL and finally Kyler Murray
If I could short Kyler Murray rookies..........

I think it's the speculative nature of the set, in general, more than a curse. There have been very few superstars who have debuted in that time.
Luck had a great career and realized that sacrificing his body to the NFL was dumb. Watson is amazing but wants out of a clearly toxic situation. Kyler clearly had growing pains in the second half of last year, but to suggests he's a bust already.
First, this is s little bit of a fun post. I'm not saying that Kyler Murray is a bust, it's just Panini's record at picking Prizm cover boys is suspect.
Interesting........here's hoping Kyler bucks that trend
Wasn't the cover of Madden NFL video game also like the kiss of death?
I believe the annual Bengals media guide cover is also cursed
Going to the two cover boy design didn't help, it just crashed twice as many stars.
In truth I think DeShaun Watson already broke the curse and Zeke still may come back, but the other QBs pretty much flamed out. I know Luck still has some value, but it will collapse if he doesn't come back. I like Kyler but the second half of the season was concerning. He couldn't move the offense like he did in the first half. It looked like a combo of injuries and better schemes. We'll see if Kingsbury can make adjustments.
Cool thinking; I would've never thought of it that way.
