USPS going the wrong direction

Hi,
I mailed off material this past Monday and the direction for that parcel was supposed to be going east; as a responsible seller I like to check on tracking numbers and view the progress of the transaction. The tracking shows that it's near Honolulu, Hi.
Any ideas and or thoughts?
Thank you

If it is going east, it’s taking the long way.

    Chances are it’ll get there.

Why check? You'll be mystified by the routes some things take. On the buying side, I've watched packages go back and forth between HI and the city of angels a few times before making it to me (I'm a mainland SW guy and they weren't coming from HI), Alaskan shipments go to Boston before heading west, and all kinds of crazy stuff.

There's a fine line between being a responsible seller and driving yourself crazy over things you have no control over the moment it leaves your house.

    Hi LarkinCollector,
Thank you, that was perfect how you said: "There's a fine line between being a responsible seller and driving yourself crazy". You brought a smile to my face. Thank you

Sounds like a USPS experience I had last month. I’m on the east coast. Buyer wanted the card sent directly to the PWCC Vault in Portland. Damn thing overshot by roughly 6,000 miles and wound up in Guam! Sat there a couple days before popping up in Honolulu, then finally arrived safely at PWCC. Only went on a 12000-mile round-trip diversion.

This reminds me of a joke from the 1980s/90s. I think it was Seinfeld. He told the ticket agent at the airport that he wants to fly to Miami but he wants his bags to go to Cleveland, then Chicago, then Dallas. The agent told him they can't do that. He replied, 'well you did it the last time I flew with you".

Are you sure it is not going to the far east? USPS doesn't make sense. I had a package going to Utah from NY. It went to Pittsburgh, then Jacksonville Florida before arriving in Utah. Very strange trip indeed.

I had a package sent from probstein in new jersey to PWCC vault in portland.
    it took nearly 6 weeks.
Another package to me stayed for a 10 day vacation in Tulsa OK for no apparent reason
The USPS is beyond screwed up right now.
