You ever hear of the NFL “Dallas Draft Pick Value Chart”?

Developed by Jimmy Johnson when he was the coach of the Dallas Cowboys in the late 1980s and early 1990s, this is the chart that NFL general managers often consult before making draft-day trades. It assigns every pick# in the draft with a specific point value, making it easier to compare the relative value of draft picks in different rounds.

In the Stafford negotiations, "Carolina was offering Detroit the eighth overall pick. The old Jimmy Johnson draft value chart puts the eighth pick at 1,400 points, making it equal to two 26th overall picks (700 each), which is probably where the Rams first 2 picks in '22 and '23 will be. So Rams 2 late firsts equal one 8th pick.
