Kobe Chrome RC - to send or not to send and possible grade by PSA...

davepsufandavepsufan Posts: 71 ✭✭

I've used only PSA in the past, but with all of the craziness, is that the way to go? Also, please give me thoughts on grade. It's hard to know what to claim for the value of the card. Thanks!

    Nice card!

    PSA 8: 60%
    PSA 8.5: 5%
    PSA 9: 30%
    Other: 5%

    Yes, no question.

Also, please give me thoughts on grade. It's hard to know what to claim for the value of the card. Thanks!

Front side: Nice centering, and corners look sharp. Hard to tell anything about a chrome surface in a pic. Make sure to clean the surface from any smudges or fingerprints. Back side: It doesn't look like the same card. I'm confused why the front image is on a cardboard surface and the back image is on top of a top load and on carpet. Both bottom corners look troubling, and it almost looks like a crease at the base of Kobe's head in the shape of a mullet. Maybe my old eyes are just seeing things, lol.

PSA 9 if my eyes deceive me on the back.

Nevertheless, a chrome Kobe RC should be sent express service level.

  • It is the same card. When I went to post the photos initially, my front photo was too blurry. I had to try a lot of things to get it focused.

Surface flaw top border go straight up from the ball.Left edge also. Depending on the back PSA 6 or 7. Opinion of course.

Killer centering. Too bad about all the greening, but PSA doesn’t seem to deduct for that. Good luck!

"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."
  • Left edge is fine as far as I can tell but there is a flaw above the ball.

  • I have a bunch of his paper rookie cards. All are in NM or M condition but some are off center. Should I send them express as well?

If they grade at a level that isn't even worth $75, then you are throwing your money away.... For the questionable stuff you need to send to a Bulker at $25 a card or just get 20+ together and a silver membership and send them bulk and wait for them to come back in a year.

Makes sense. The paper ones are going for up to $300 ungraded on ebay right now. It's crazy! I'll have to send the best 1 or 2 via express.
