Hello All...first post here and I apologize up front if the question is missing information..etc...etc.
My question is basically is this: I there anything that clearly screams "fake" about this coin?

Cast repro of a 1712-14 Mexico 2 Escudos (originals almost all from the 1715 Fleet).
Looks to be plated rather than the occasionally seen solid 14K...

Rim/edge looks bad. Can you post some better pics showing the rims?
Does this help?
My gut take is that it is a fake based upon the design motifs both being uniformly well struck and more or less centered on each side.
In honor of the memory of Cpl. Michael E. Thompson
Looks fake.
Thanks for the input...I also noticed that edge on the side.
Definitely gold...that I can verify.
What is the weight?
5.6 grams
Should be 6.7 grams.
One of your pics seems to show verdigris/corrosion, which I do not expect to see on gold
What did you do to verify that it is gold?
I believe your right...I'm pretty sure now its cast lead..plated.
