Does anyone here still use VCP?
Curious if anyone still uses their services. For those who have never heard of VCP, it stands for Vintage Card Prices and it records sales not only from eBay but from auction houses as well. It's is (or was I should say) a great tool to find the most up to date selling prices as well as card averages (high and lows) on card sales.
I have been a longtime subscriber but I have noticed in the last 1-2 years that they are not updating information often and missing a lot of sales. Many cards have just 1-2 recorded sales for that month when in reality, maybe 10 cards sold in that period. Others aren't even picking up on sales when in fact there have been. And on big cards too. Have they simply given up? It's not exactly a cheap service and I feel like I'm throwing away money here as I always have to go to eBay or check around auction houses to fish for more recorded sales. I will subscribe one more year and hope to see improvements when it comes to recording data but has anyone else also noticed this?

It's remarkable in an age of high tech that sales cannot be automatically flagged and posted electronically within seconds. PSA stats only capture maybe 20% of my sales on ebay but gather everything ~at least 90% ~ PWCC or Probstein sell.... Still~ If you want to do something right you need to do it yourself.
VCP missing ebay sales has been going on for a long time. I'm not going to look them all up, but there are many threads where I got into it with Bobby for the amount of eBay sales his service misses.
its funny, I havent thought of them in quite a while. VCP was all the rage for some time though. everything changes.
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
still use it periodically, not proudly though after their part in the coverup and bobbys shadiness here.
130point.com is free and seems more reliable in picking up everything thats actually paid for.
really only use vcp for rarer items that dont come up often or those that cycle off of 130point after 90 days.
“who’s bobby?” 🤯
I still use VCP often but yes, it is frustrating that he misses some recent sales or they get put in the wrong category.
I use PSA auction prices website after VCP's price increase a while back. To me, VCP was always way easier to use, but it wasn't "way easier to use" enough to justify the monthly fees.
Bobby who?
Bobby is the guys name who runs VCP.
Edit: Now I get the reference. I missed that thread. I certainly felt secondhand embarrassment for him while reading that. Lol
It's properly phrased as "Who is Bobby?" by the man himself: https://forums.collectors.com/discussion/comment/12375381/#Comment_12375381
Make your own decision if this is a person worthy of your money.
I still use it for the "wantlist" feature
It sends daily emails when cards in my wantlist pop...
I have varied and numerous EBAY searches, but VCP finds the auction house listings.
Try to capture all the items for sale that I am currently searching for - not perfect but increases the odds of finding that special card.

I’m embarrassed. Rookie mistake.
I signed up for the first time last week. Seems like a valuable resource even if it's not perfect.
