What was your last eBay purchase?

doubledragondoubledragon Posts: 23,269 ✭✭✭✭✭

When was the last time you purchased anything on eBay. I must confess, I'm on eBay everyday. I practically live in the boxing card section, and the minute I wake up, before I even have a sip of coffee, I'm on the bay.

I enjoy going on Ebay and searching for all the cards and coins i could never afford to buy.

It had been 20 years since I purchased anything on the bay. Last year had to find a part for my jeep intake and had to make a new account for a $20 piece of plastic they don't make anymore.

They've got me hooked and they know it. I order practically everything from ebay now, nicotine gum, cards, dvd's, clothing, you name it. A pure stroke of genius, they're getting filthy rich from my dime!

I'm on the smartphone the minute I roll out of bed. My wife is jealous of the bay. She knows the bay is my schnookums.

Heck, I'm in the middle of an eBay auction right now and it ends in 6 days. It's a 6 day auction for a rare card. I'm getting mentally prepared for the closing seconds of the auction right now. I'm strategizing, exercising, eating right, sleeping good, and when this auction closes, I'm going to go Chuck Norris on my competition.

I usually tuck eBay into it's bed around 8:00p.m. right before I go to bed at 8:30.

I used to love searching through the cards on Ebay and filling my cart up but I been out of the card scene for awhile now. I still have them just haven’t bought any in a while. I did pretty much my entire Christmas shopping on eBay and just bought my girlfriends son a basketball hoop. Here is my recent shopping

Wow that Nicorette chit is expensive. A buck for one piece of gum if i'm reading it right?

But i guess the money ya save on buying ciggies, as well as the benefit to the heart and lungs is well worth it. :)

It’s actually 1200 pieces for $200, I got 6 boxes of 200. don’t smoke but I occasionally chew tobacco. The Orange poker chips are for my home games, they will be $100 chips, I bought a sleeve of green chips for $25 chips but we always run out lol. So had to bring in more higher denomination chips 🤷‍♂️

Actually it can be very useful in the home for scaring off certain types of small rodents, sort of like the way a scarecrow works. The Ryan Leaf bobblehead is a best seller for this reason.

I have a feeling that if i ever sat-in on a Perkdog poker game, by the end of the night i'd be living in a van down by the river, same result as if i played against Doyle Brunson. LOL

I keep my Panthers Jake Delhomme bobblehead handy to keep burglars away. They take one look at it, think about his 5 interception playoff game, and they're so depressed that they leave without stealing anything from me.

A 1/3 of the bottle covers 2,000 sq ft.

I use a 1/3 every week for <100 sq ft and it barely keeps the rabbits away. :s

You know it’s funny, very rarely I win a large amount. I usually win either a couple hundred or lose a couple hundred. Best poker win at a home game was $1200 and $1100, worst loss was $800. Honestly over the years I’d be willing to bet I’m roughly up or down a $1000 and I been playing since 1985. I had a record streak of winning north of $300 for about 20 games straight then went on a tailspin for about 6 months. The game gives and it takes. All gamblers know what I’m talking about

Sounds like you're playing 1/2 or maybe 2/4 with starting table stakes of around a couple hundred dollars or so.

Ya got a shot with skill to make money or at least hold your own in an unraked home game such as that.

For those type of low stakes, if it was at a casino raked game over 35 years, you'd have definitely lost many thousands of dollars because of the rake, based on the dollar amounts you mentioned.

Besides, if you're just not catching cards on a particular poker playing session, i think it's way better to have a poker playing buddy win the money, rather than some stinkin' billionaire casino owner. :)

Well said and 100% FACT. I don’t play poker at casinos or public poker rooms, I don’t even care about the take it’s the chatter from all these idiots that think they are pros and talk to much. I just can’t do it, I literally want to choke these people out. Home game or no game for me.

Steve Garvey rookie card. Graded PSA 7

Just purchased a George Brett 1993 stadium club psa 9. Was starting to think I would have
to purchase a raw one and submit it myself. Now I just need one more card to
complete the Brett basic registry set.
