Jalen Ramsey slaps Jared Goff's face

doubledragondoubledragon Posts: 23,269 ✭✭✭✭✭

The internet is in an uproar because Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey has been on instagram openly recruiting Deshaun Watson to be the Rams quarterback while Jared Goff is still the quarterback. Jalen Ramsey went on Deshaun Watson's instagram account and posted, "Look like an LA man."

Goff quote; "When we lose it's all my fault. When we win I had nothing to do with it." That's it in a nutshell boys and girls. Four seasons as a starter with three playoff and one Super Bowl appearance isn't too bad. Only missed one game his entire career. Plays hurt. Second most wins of any quarterback over the same period. Not bad. He will never get any respect because he's a California kid. Golden Boy. Not gritty enough for the "tough fan" crowd. Hell, even the Lovely Mrs. Hydrant does the non- stop rag on the guy. But.....love him or hate him.....he will be back in the playoffs next year. Take it to the bank. There will always be a player that fans "love to hate." Big deal.

  • HydrantHydrant Posts: 7,773 ✭✭✭✭✭

Also.....Mr. Ramsey would do better to focus more on himself and his teammates in the Ram defensive secondary. THEY are the main reason that the Rams lost to the Packers last week. It's easy blame someone else for one's own failures. Very typical. And low class.

Kinda true but I think Goffs problem is he doesn’t do anything more than blue collar work. I don’t hate the guy but I don’t think he is the sole reason behind the success of the Rams as much as he might think

Oh wow, now it appears that Rams general manager Les Snead is taking the same road as Sean McVay. Les Snead says Jared Goff is their quarterback "at this moment".

The worst part is they could've waited to see how much he had declined had they been patient.

He was only in his fourth season of his five-year rookie deal when they made this huge mistake.

How much do you think Snead would give him now?

I hope this rumor comes true:

"ESPN’s Stephen A Smith claimed on Wednesday’s First Take that “a source just texted me” that the Los Angeles Rams would be “willing” to trade Jared Goff and draft picks to the Houston Texans for quarterback Deshaun Watson."

Maybe I can swap-out my 10 Rams season tickets (that I'm paying the credit card company for but have never used) for Chargers games. Same stadium. I like small crowds and the Lovely Mrs. Hydrant has a granny crush on that pimply faced Justin Herbert kid. I'm not worried. Hey, the Rams copied the Chargers uniform colors this year so if I ever do get to attend a game in person I can just pretend I'm watching the Rams with a different helmet. No biggie. ⚡

What "marginal QB" do you have in mind? $100,000,000? Chump change in today's world. Some people on this forum are hard-hearted cheapskates. It's not your money. I like it when the "Big Boys" burn up their cash on marginal losers. Makes me feel not so bad about me burning up my own money on season ticket seats that.........THEY WON'T LET ME SIT IN!!!!

The “Marginal” QB I’m Talking about is Jared Goff. And yea 100+ Million is chump change maybe but it destroys your teams salary cap when you decide you don’t want said “Marginal” QB anymore. I couldn’t care less who QB’s the Rams or how much they pay their guys, in fact I don’t care about any player getting a stupid contract but I’m going to LOL when they are not sure if the player they signed for 100+ million is a guy they actually want before he earns dollar one on the 100 Million

Kroenke's money loss means squat to me. His wife (WalMart heiress) has as much as Stan.

It's the 6 first round picks, and 5 seconds rounders to get him, and then to dump him that is the only concern for me.

marginal front office is the problem . The coach sucks too actually whats he done for anyone? He gets to decide to dump the guy making 100 million ?

Goff has won a lot of games and they willingly signed him to that deal .

McVay thinks goff isn't good enough supposedly didn't some other coach think the same of Brady ?

The whole process seems to be collapsing . Once we found out Bellichek makes 25 million and last year refused to give Brady more than 22 million its easy to see how stupid these people are.

The same Bellichek that traded Jimmy G for a 2nd rounder , then dumped Bresset then ran Brady out of time to sign Cam Newton and guys like McVay look up to Bill and model themselves after him.

How about how Detroit thinks they need to dump stafford ? :D , great evaluation skills by detroit , the same team that hired this new coach who is even dumber than the coach they fired . Incidentally , the guy they fired was worse than the guy he replaced :D

I think I could run a franchise with a few monkeys help better than than 20 or so of what the teams are doing now.

  • bronco2078bronco2078 Posts: 10,225 ✭✭✭✭✭

Why does DeShaun Watson want to go to the Rams? He is already a great QB it may already be too late for McVay to ruin him with his "SYSTEM" .

The Texans are stupid obviously but watson must be even stupider if he thinks going to the Rams or the Jets will improve his lot in life.

You guys are almost as good at ripping the Rams as most of their fans are. Ram fans are just a different breed. Like clueless. And shallow. The cheerleaders at Corona Island are a more popular attraction at the games than the team is. 📸 And they're actually not all that hot. It is La La Land after all. 👯🏈👯

I don't like when players do things like that. To me, it is unprofessional.

@hydrant Did you think that there was almost too much excitement when Wolford was playing? By that I mean, when a backup comes in it shouldn't feel so fresh. The energy through the screen was palpable.

I wouldn't call it excitement. More like nervous anticipation. Then
when Wolford threw an interception on his second call from scrimmage the mood immediately changed from nervous anticipation to one of impending doom. But...he handled himself well and showed that he had very good running abilities. That is what won the game against the Cardinals. My take on him is that he is too small physically. Unfortunately that seems to have played a part, I think, in the concussion(?) neck injury that he sustained in the first drive against the Seahawks in the Wildcard game. He isn't big enough or strong enough to take the hits. Goff came in and did an adequate job leading the Rams to a victory. Broken thumb and all. Goff has the statistics of a very good quarterback but he is underrated and the fans and coaching staff lack confidence in him. Wolford is not the answer. We shall see.

Maybe I am wrong, but I sensed from Rams fans, and the announcers, etc that McVay was chomping at the bit to have a different type of quarterback out there. I guess that was my point....that if Goff is going to be the guy, there shouldn't be so much suddenly on the table because a backup is in the game. The QB1, whoever he is, should do enough.

Well, thisistheshow, if McVay wanted a different type of quarterback it looks like he got his wish. It better go good for him or the Rams will be looking for a different type of coach.

  • doubledragondoubledragon Posts: 23,269 ✭✭✭✭✭

It sounds like Jared Goff may have taken a little swipe at Sean McVay and the Rams organization. He made a statement about the trade to the Lions and he says, "I'm excited to be on a team that wants me and appreciates me."

What's your opinion? It seems to me as though the Rams paid a lot. Success would offset this, although anything less than a SB victory will be seen as a failure...considering you just made it to a SB with Goff.

Whats different about stafford exactly ?
Seems like two crap teams that see greener grass in a guy that the other team diacarded
goff is not this bad and stafford is not this good .

Idiots in la have no 1st round picks until 2039 now and a crap coach .

Detroit won the trade but will still suck

" McVay was the one who called Rams owner Stan Kroenke on Saturday to sign off on the team going the extra mile to get it done, spurred by some extra tape work he and Snead did. That work only cemented what McVay loved about Stafford already—how quickly he processes, his pocket movement, his play urgency, his ability to throw off platform or in rhythm and his tough, fearless style."

There seems to be one very important adjective that is missing, that McVay loved about Wohlford…

    MOBILITY

    Uhh, coincidence???

Maybe this is why McVay, and the GM all but disowned Goff a week before the trade.

"Meanwhile, once the deal was agreed to, some 1,100 miles south of L.A., McVay and Stafford were sitting down for dinner to celebrate a fresh start of their own, near the Chileno Bay Resort in Los Cabos, Mexico, with Stafford’s wife Kelly and McVay’s fiancé Veronika. The coach and his new quarterback happened to be among a number of NFL people in Cabo last week"
