Which is tougher: Getting a gold CAC or a PCGS Plus grade on an AU58?

I've been looking for type coins with an AU58+ grade and am finding this task difficult at best.

Here’s a real pretty CBH you might like for type...

Nice coin, although the location of the marks isn't ideal.
To address the OP's question, I'd guess a gold CAC would be harder, but that's pure speculation on my part.
I think the AU58+ is much more scarce.
I got plenty of cac gold stickers mostly on common collector coins but never got a 58 plus; I got some NGC star grades which is generally when the coin is not all there as a prooflike.
Isn't the data available between coinfacts and CAC to determine which is more rare?

I think the OP was talking about gold CAC stickers on coins graded AU58, not in general. Correct me if I'm wrong.
He means coins with PCGS grade of AU58+ compared to any grade of coin with a Gold CAC sticker. AU58s with a Gold CAC would be very rare. Another toughie would be an NGC coin graded with a "+*", + star.
I read it the same way and agree the Gold Sticker would be more scarce than the +.
Yes! My sincere apology for the misunderstandings. I do mean the AU58 grade. The PLUS vs CAC within that grade. I have pop reports on the + grade for AU58 yet don't have the CAC information (I'm not a member and have yet to send a coin to them).

If you want a CAC pop report you can look those up online freely and without a membership. I will list the CAC homepage and CAC pop report page below-
https://www.caccoin.com
https://www.caccoin.com/pop/
You can then go through each series and ask for green CAC, gold CAC or green+gold CAC sticker populations per coin and they will show how many and in what grades.

Hey, that is so cool. Thanks, Tom! Some terrific information within. I appreciate it.
Here's another example of a plus coin (AU58):

You're welcome. I'd think over time that an AU58 gold CAC would be more difficult to find than an AU58+ coin.

I checked Morgan’s, Liberty $2.5 and $5 and the respective CAC gold pop for 58 (PCGS and NGC) are zero, one, and two.
If JA gold stickers a 58 he is saying the coin is uncirculated which is probably more difficult to have happen then PCGS designating a 58 as very nice with a + designation.
Very often PQ very lightly circulated coins are given a bump (market graded) to MS62. This probably skews what happens a bit.
I like my PCGS AU58 Gold CAC where it is on my Everyman Set. I would take a look at a AU58+ though.

I would venture to guess that a gold CAC 58 would be harder than the 58+, because the former would mean that the coin is actually a mint state 60 (a higher numerical grade), if I understand the grade certification process correctly.

Gold colored CAC data on AU58’s INCLUDES gold colored CAC’s on AU58+’s, since CAC ignores plus grades.

Au58+ is the tougher find. Anyone can put a sticker on. It takes time for an au58+ to get there and only a second to affix a sticker with glue.
