RIP Hammerin Hank. What are your thoughts....

What are your thoughts on people rushing to ebay to list autographs after someone has passed?

I went on eBay when news broke of Kobe’s death. It couldn’t have been more than 5 minutes since it was first reported on the internet, and well before it was on TV. Every Kobe auto listing BIN was already sold. 100s of them. Was wondering if it was some sort of BOT.

Kiss me once, shame on you.

Happens every time. Massive buying & listing at excessive prices

Yes, I remember that too. Cards were selling so fast and cards were being listed for 100x what they were just 5 days earlier.

I sold about $800 in Hank Aaron cards today. The cards were already listed prior to the news of his passing.

I have dozens of other Hank Aaron cards that have been languishing in my “to get listed” pile. Seems like now is the optimum time... but I also don’t want to take advantage of someone’s passing for my monetary gain.

Hank Aaron signed cards have been part of my collection so I have a saved eBay search for such. On a normal day I see 2-3 new items, but today that number is 165. Honestly it is sad to see.

I heard he got the vaccine just two weeks ago. I don't know how accurate that information is.

  • I have never seen more 1954 and 1955 Topps Hank Aaron cards listed in one day. People paying over $1000 for a 1955 in EX 5. Just nuts.

Some of his signed jerseys are selling in the $1500-2000 range. Just last year I purchased a graded one for $200.

Ebay asks for a 1954 Hank Aaron RC psa-8 at $100k and $120k!

I always liked the 1955 Hank Aaron better aesthetically...beautiful presentation.

prices will fall back down. Saw the same thing when Kaline, Seaver, Brock, and Gibson all passed recently.

America at its best. Remember the run on TP at the beginning of COVID? It should tell you something about the character of some Americans. For some...it is every man or woman for him or herself. COVID has been a dry run for a nuclear attack on how some Americans would respond.

I was about to raid a cornfield to take care of business. Oh shucks...TP finally returned to the grocery store shelves!

A vaccine could take several weeks before it finally does any good. He might be still alive if he took it a month ago. Then of course it wasnt available then.
