USPS Shipping for Coins?

Has anyone ever made up a label with their address as both sender and recipient and sent it to someone to use to send coins to them?

I believe it can be done. If not use your good friend next door neighbor's return address. There is a limit to how far out you can choose your ship date. Probably best to buy the label in PP and email the PDF of the label to your other party and advise that party to comply with the shipping date on the label. I've had usps refuse to accept labels that did not match the day presented to them.

    Yes

I have. Ideally you set the shipping label's "sent from" ZIP code to the correct starting point so the routing gets figured out properly from the start, but I'm not sure how much that actually matters outside of ensuring the right postage is charged (first class rates are now distance-based; for a Priority flat rate, that wouldn't matter).

This is mostly what I have in mind. Email a copy of the label to the shipper.

I assume and maybe wrongly that the delivery route is coded into the tracking number and it might confuse the system to do it in reverse. Will be a priority flat rate if done.

Yes, I've done that several times, both numismatic and other items.

Ship date really doesn't matter much. I use the date of printing as the ship date, then email the PDF. If it takes them a week to mail, no big deal as long as that tracking number isn't scanned and used more than once, you're good to go.

I think that's true, but at the same time, things go awry for all sorts of reasons, whether you print a label and mail it somewhere else (bring it on vacation before sending it) or it just gets in the wrong bin and has to go through an unexpected city. So to that end it may cause a hiccup, but shouldn't result in a package getting lost. I have done this before and haven't had any issues, though again, if you can change the ship-from zip code, that should negate this from being a problem, regardless of the return address.

The reason for doing so is twofold. First removing the burden of choosing shipping from the other party and two to assure that the package will come to you regardless. Not sure if it would confuse things if something went awry with your name and addy , but their zip code. Is there a way to edit your return addy with PP?

PP no idea. You can easily do it on the USPS website. They only allow for Priority or Express (no FC), but that doesn't sound like an issue for you.
