ITALY. Venice. 1/2 Scudo, ND (1779)-LAF. Paolo Renier. PCGS MS-64 Gold Shield.

KM-705. Paolucci-19. Variety with "И" for "N" in legends. An overall lovely coin with sharp device detail, not a hint of weakness and attractive sunset toning colors at the edges when rotated under a light. Clearly an elite coin for the issue.

How does one get a hater to stop hating?

    Congratulations on your new purchase! Great strike.

    I do the admit that the idea of a "retrograde" letter is a bit entertaining, however.

    Thanks for the nice words, everyone! I am not crazy about the coin based on the TrueView image, but I do like the coin based on SB's holder images. So, I am hopeful that I will like it.

    Not if the criteria involves the knowledge of even existence of Cyrillic numerals. I think there are still Staroveri camps deep in Siberia, but I doubt they have internet ;)
