Rodrick Dow Craythorn, of Syracuse, Utah, is facing up to 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to digging up graves at Yellowstone National Park while searching for the famed Forrest Fenn treasure.

Prosecutors said in a statement that Craythorn was found digging up graves at Fort Yellowstone Cemetery inside the national park between October 1, 2019, and May 24, 2020.

He pleaded guilty to charges of excavating or trafficking in archaeological resources, and injury or depredation to United States property on Monday.

Fenn's $1 million treasure, which launched a decade-long search, was found by a 32-year-old from Michigan last year.

I had meant 'any' instead of 'ant' but wasn't able to delete my misspelling. All BS aside, I believe the finder made a big mistake in announcing his find, as after the ambulance chasing vermin along with multitudes of taxing authorities try to horn in for a share, he likely will not end up with a dime. 'Three can keep a secret if two of them are dead' comes to mind!

Seems to me he was just caught raiding graves in search of relics, and there is no actual connection to the Fenn treasure. Claiming he was looking for Fenn's treasure is just a way to get attention from the news media, which he did. Otherwise, he's just another pathetic relic thief who went to jail for robbing graves.
