It seems like a whole generation of baseball stars that I grew up with have died this year - Phil Niekro is the 7th Hall of Famer to pass away in 2020, joining Joe Morgan, Tom Seaver, Al Kaline, Lou Brock, Bob Gibson and Whitey Ford.

i heard the news last night. didnt know he was unwell. have we ever lost this many HOFers in one year? it has been a rough one for the hall of fame

Yes, we won't see his kind again, sadly. His Brother Joe passed in 2006, also a very fun guy. Pitched for MN in 87 when they won the World Series first time ever. I was actually at this game, you could see that nail file from the left field seats. Hilarious!
