Now these are both great cards. And great to have in a collection.

Barry is widely regarded as the more talented and better RB of the two. Barry is ranked #10 on the all-time NFL greatest players list while Emmitt is #19. Emmitt simply played for the better team and had a notably better offensive line. That said, the Emmitt RC is much more visually appealing. I love the look of that Emmitt RC.
I think both will move similarly on pricing. Honestly, I think any collection needs both. If forced to choose, I vote Barry because he was the better RB talent wise.
No question about it for me, Barry Sanders.
Wrestling - Danielson - Storm - Tajiri
I'm a Barry Sanders guy forever. But for that to be his key RC is a crying shame, considering what he was able to do with his body on the field of play. The Emmitt card, on the other hand, captures his playing style BEAUTIFULLY.
From a condition standpoint, I think it's tough to find an Emmitt 9 with decent enough centering and NO WHITE on the dark edges. I'd grab that one. You'll have ample opportunity to find equal or better Barry Sanders PSA 9s.
I like the Emmitt card better.
they are both are great cards! i have both in psa 10 grade. every football collection should have both of these guys in nine or ten.
Sanders, because he was the better back and I hate the Cowboys.
As a Dallas fan, Emmitt was tougher, but Barry was a lot more talented with a worse team.
As far as cards go, there are a lot more Sanders Score RC's out there and the darker border on the Emmitt, at least to me, makes it a much better card in terms of money long term
Player: Barry
Card: Emmitt
Are you planning to sell one? Just questioning why you are asking.

No I am not selling. I just thought I'd start a topic and get some thoughts on it.

Love both cards but if I had to choose it would be Barry all day. One of the few bright spots in the history of the Lions.
Sanders +1
Thanks,

Sanders was better, Emmitt is the tougher card to get a 9 on.

I agree with Old Danny boy. Only caveat is if I needed 2 yards and the game depended on it I am not ever giving the ball to Barry Sanders. He was transcendent in the open field and in my opinion in a class by himself. Between the tackles I would want at least 20 backs over him. For me the most complete back of all time is on my avatar. Barry was the most elusive and dynamic though no doubt.
I prefer the Emmitt card design and color. And I've always preferred action shots over "portrait" photos.
Is that Lawrence Taylor on the right side, chasing Emmitt? Having two HOFers on the card would be cool.
Both card and player: Emmitt
Longevity, rings, records and he played for America’s team - North Dallas Forty.
Barry's the better RB imo. Emmitt's 90 Score Supp. is about as perfect a look as you can get. Classic Dallas uniform. In game action shot. Great looking card.
I have never Studied the Emmitt card but it looks like a receiver that has not gotten off the lien nor has the Db moved but yet Emmitt is running around the right side. Very odd but maybe I am looking at it wrong
But what if you needed 80 yards on the next play and the opposing defense was Tampa circa 1994?
More exciting back : Barry.. could take it to the house on any carry. Much more fun to watch
Better all around back : Emmitt.. Better picking up the blitz. Better receiver out of the backfield. Better goaline and short yardage back. Just my 0.2
back in the day there was talk that the 90 suplimental set was short printed. that may mean there were only 100.000 of them compared to 2,000,000 sanders
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
That would still be a LOT less! ;-)
