after todays game, 43 year old brady has clinched a birth for a team who hasnt been to the playoffs since 2007. A year after brady leaves, the pats will miss the playoffs for the first time since 2008. even if TB loses in the first round, round one of BB vs TB will go to tom. He is most certainly not a system QB. some stats for reference:

Cam Newton in a new offense: 2381 yds, 5 td and 10 int

Brady in a new offense: 4234 yds, 36 td and 11 int

can you imagine what those numbers could have looked like for TB if he would have had a training camp and 4 preseason games to get in sync with his new offense?

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

Brady destroyed the Lions today. I listened to some of the game on a YouTube stream. I turned it off after the first half. It was over that fast. I knew he would get them to the playoffs. I knew his greatness would finally get the Bucs over the hump.

It’s what I been saying all along, Brady saw the inept offensive help he was getting from Belichick and said “SEE YA!!” I mean at his age why would he want to hang around when he was going to get hung out to dry? The Marriage ended as it was eventually going to and Brady has a hot new offense at his disposal and he is quieting the Bill or Brady nonsense

While it remains to be seen, it certainly appears right now that while one day father time will catch-up to Tom Brady, it hasn't quite yet, at least not fully.

Meanwhile it does appear that father time has caught-up to Bill Belichick. He may still be considered one of the best head coaches in the NFL, in a league with a lot of incompetent head coaches. But Belichick probably should no longer be classified in the genius category, especially at 68 years old.

i recall when Tom Landry, also considered a genius, seemed to have a precipitous decline in head coaching ability, IE winning football games...and he was only 64 years old when he got fired.

    64 is the new 40.

I'd say perhaps with proper diet and lifestyle, that could be correct.

But not with NFL head coaches. Most if not all of them having to work long hours under constant stress and usually poor diets to go along with it. All that is not conducive to a well functioning mind and body, especially when old age sets in.

I’m 64 and nothing wrong with my mind.

What were we talking about again? 😉

    When I’m Sixty-four

When I get older losing my hair
    Many years from now
Will you still be sending me a Valentine
    Birthday greetings bottle of wine
If I'd been out till quarter to three
    Would you lock the door
Will you still need me, will you still feed me
    When I'm sixty-four

    You'll be older too
And if you say the word
    I could stay with you
I could be handy, mending a fuse
    When your lights have gone
You can knit a sweater by the fireside
Sunday mornings go for a ride
Doing the garden, digging the weeds
    Who could ask for more
Will you still need me, will you still feed me
    When I'm sixty-four

Every summer we can rent a cottage
In the Isle of Wight, if it's not too dear
    We shall scrimp and save
    Grandchildren on your knee
    Vera, Chuck and Dave
Send me a postcard, drop me a line
    Stating point of view
Indicate precisely what you mean to say
    Yours sincerely, wasting away
Give me your answer, fill in a form
    Mine for evermore
Will you still need me, will you still feed me
    When I'm sixty-four

Agree but it does depend on lifestyle. My good friend's dad was a heavy beer drinker and had a big beer gut. Died at 66 years old.

Honestly besides back problems. 5”10 170”. Very little if any fried foods. Haven’t drank in years. Unfortunately gave up chasing women when I met my wife. Still work full time and I’m soooo lucky to be in good health even though I celebrate 50 years of smoking. I hope all of my buddies here are here next year and remain as healthy as possible.
