Does PSA grade Topps print proofs?

I recently purchased some Topps print proofs from the 1990's. Does anyone happen to know if PSA will grade or authenticate them? I have a bunch more stuck in the USPS system but here are are my 1996 Stadium Club Kobe and Nash rookie cards.

Are these cards listed in any of the Beckett Almanacs or the SCD Standard Catalogs?

They're print proofs of the actual cards so I'm not sure. Beckett will grade them as uncut or or without foil but I'm not sure if they list them as variations. I was hoping to get them in my next PSA submission but it doesn't sound like that will work out.

Thanks. It looks like SGC and Beckett will grade them. I reached out to PSA to see if they will consider grading proofs since BGS and SGC offer it.

if you're a psa guy and like uniformity, i'd say hold off until late next year. one of the new stakeholders taking over the company has some various and tremendous basketball proofs. i think things like these and star basketball will start being able to be submitted.

I believe officially, on the record, they dont grade proofs or certain surplus 1990's sheet cuts that can pass for factory cut. however, they do slide from time to time. there is a well known ebay seller that sells legitimate proofs that PSA has graded. these proofs were factory sheets that I think they had cut to proper size and are most of the time indiscernible from their factory counterparts. there have been some proofs they have officially graded though, like from the Fleer Corporate Archive which were pre production proofs during the sale of Fleer/Skybox back in 2004-05. an example shown below. all of these were missing autos, swatches or other cuts that were included in the end product.

BGS will grade certain cards missing serial numbers or missing die cuts (usually backdoored copies or proofs). examples of these are 1997 Bowmans Best baseball cards "missing auto", 1997 Bowmans Best Best Cuts "missing die cut" and 1998 Donruss Crusade "missing serial number". BGS will note them as such, even though they won't call them proofs.

  • Thanks for the info everyone. I appreciate the help. Right now I'll just sit on them and see what happens in the future.
