Royal mint gold half sovereigns

Does anyone collect these? I think they’re a very attractive coin with a classic design. Right now I’m looking at the one that celebrates the queen’s 95th bday. Just curious if there’s a collector potential or simply a shiny temptation.

I collect much earlier versions: Victoria Young Head half sovereigns. Most collectors seem to like the full sovs best with the Lizzies....

I agree - full sovs have a greater collectors base than the half. I've been tempted to delve into the half.
I've purchased some of the limited edition QEII SOVS IN 2017. All went up in value. My suggestion is to purchase early directly from the mint, buy the full sov vice the half, have it graded and stabbed quickly. If you really want the half, go ahead - it has a low mintage of 1,500 not counting the ones in the five coin sets.
Or buy two and sell one,
