Pretty much most of the greatest defenses of all time had nicknames. I did find that there were a lot more teams with nicknames than i thought. But they pretty much go hand in hand with the all-time best anyway.
The Fearsome Foursome (LA Rams)
The Legion of Boom (Seattle Seahawks)
The Purple People Eaters (Minnesota Vikings)
The Steel Curtain (Pittsburgh Steelers)
Orange Crush (Denver Broncos)
Monsters of the Midway (Chicago Bears)
New York Sack Exchange (NY Jets)
Doomsday Defense (Dallas Cowboys)
No-Name Defense (Miami Dolphins)
The Killer B’s (Miami Dolphins)
The Dome Patrol (New Orleans Saints)
Gang Green (Philadelphia Eagles)
Blitzburgh (Pittsburgh Steelers)
No Fly Zone (Denver Broncos)
Big Blue Wrecking Crew (NY Giants)
Gritz Blitz (Atlanta Falcons)
take a look at the list of Qb's the Bears defense faced in 1985 and with the fact of the defensive rules back then anyone over the age of 5 can tell you why their defense was so good that year.
When John Facenda was narrating Super Bowl X:
“In the second half the Pittsburgh defense jammed the shotgun and reduced it to a squirt setting, a Super Bowl record seven sacks as a Niagara of gold and black poured down on Roger Staubach”

Like Dan Marino? lol
dan was the 1 good QB the Bears played that year and what happened? Dan moved that dolphins offense up and down the field as Miami scored 38 points !!!!
#LetsGoSwitzerlandThe Man Who Does Not Read Has No Advantage Over the Man Who Cannot Read. The biggest obstacle to progress is a habit of “buying what we want and begging for what we need.”You get the Freedom you fight for and get the Oppression you deserve.

the 2000 Ravens have to be ranked in the very top tier of all time defenses.
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
