Do you think Details/Genuine coins should get only 1 point?

As you probably know, "problem" coins that come back with a Details grade are only assigned a value of 1 point in the Set Registries. Do you think this is fair? An AU coin with a light cleaning gets 1/3 the points of an AG3 with almost no detail visible. And in some series (e.g., early copper) nearly every example is some shade of "Details".

Do you think Details/Genuine coins should get only 1 point?

No. There should be another system to reduce points but not all the way to 1.

In the set registry I believe a Details coin should receive half the value of a straight graded coin. With that being said I think PCGS should be more clear as to the specific grade of a Details coin. There is a huge difference between a MS62 details and MS66 details but PCGS doesn’t specify an exact numerical grade on a Details coin.

Example: an AU50 details should receive 25 points on the set registry
