09 S cent mint mark location
How many dies were used for the obverse of the 1909 S cent. I have a PCGS 62BN that the S is tucked closely up between the first 9 and 0 and just got a PCGS 64RD where the S is much lower under the 0 and a little towards the last 9.

Six. One of the obverse dies for the S-VDB was reused, and five new obverse dies were used (according to QDB).

nice article, very informative but these cents are not VDB. the 62 has a mint mark like position 1 but the 64 isn't show in this article

Exactly! the top image matches my 62 and the 2nd is my 64. here is a shot of my 64RD. didn't know there were so many variations. thanks for the education
