So, I have never tried to grade a card before

Any advice? I mainly collect hockey especially from the 80's - 90's. I know there is a lot of junk there, but there can be some gems out there and would love to search through a lot of my collection and see what I have. I collect more of those cards signed, so mint condition wasn't always the thing I was most concerned about.
Obviously centering is important (I bought one of the centering tools off ebay to check. What else should I make sure of? Any vidoes out there that show what exactly I should be looking for as far as the rest? Should I have a magnifying glass? (I do need glasses, so may not be a bad idea) Anything else? I always wish there was a section at card shows where people would help with this. Like a grade training class!

I'd start here to familiarize yourself with what are usually the standards used for grading a card...then you can go on youtube and search for various videos of people who show what they do to identify grading candidates...and yes, a magnifying glass is required...
