You know those kids that got sucked into the late 80’s early 90’s craze? Yea that’s me.
So as you can guess, my mother recently requested I come over and clean out the top of her closet of all my treasures!
Now to begin the task of sorting through it all. I know there’s little to no chance of anything valuable given the era, but I happen to work for PCGS so I think what I’d like to do is make myself a box of 20 or 40 of mementos from my childhood to submit to PSA for fun. I have some autographed cards, some 8x10 autographed photos etc. I’ve even got some extra stuff like my Garbage Pail Kids, Return of the Jedi, and Wrestlemania cards.
I thought I’d Just rely on eBay sold listings and the PSA price guides like I do for coins to kinda see what was semi valuable for each brand/year and then see if I have any, I’m addition to just pulling some of my favorite players. Does this make the most sense? We’re talking 1987-92 Baseball and Hockey so there’s not a lot of hot cards to look through.
Naturally my favorite player was Darryl Strawberry 😂🤷🏻♂️ I’ve probably got 40+ cards of his. Maybe I should just submit them all little by little for fun!
I’m well aware that it will cost me far more to submit stuff than the value, but it’s really not about the money, it’s about my memories.
That’s me in the bottom. My dad in the top Polaroid!

Also collecting Andre Tippett, Patriots Greats' RCs, Dwight Evans, 1964 Venezuelan Topps, 1974 Topps Red Sox
Would have been good if that would’ve all been basketball you collected in the late 80s.
HOF SIGNED FOOTBALL RCS
I think there’s some 1990 Skybox in there.
@DBesse27 Thanks! I hope so! It’s kinda daunting to go though and I’m not sure what to do with the rejects. It seems a shame to trash them but I can’t keep them.

Was that a Rod Carew autograph signing?
Yep! It was at an electronics store. He signed a number of things for me!

I've always heard that Hot Rod is a class act and very cordial to fans.
@bobbybakeriv He was nice to me as I recall, it was a loooong time ago!
