Feedback on an EBAY seller...

Anybody have any reviews on EBAY seller blew.horses?
Planning on dropping a dollar or two or more on a couple of their auctions and wanted to know if anybody had and experiences good, bad or neutral...

Thanks Much!

ha. i would say he's very dependable and really only deals in centered stuff w tremendous eye appeal. seems to package nicely and ship very quickly from my experience. i am biased though.

if he gives you any problems, let me know and i'll go rough him up for you. 😉

    Lol!
    That's awesome

I'd be bidding on one of those Aarons, if I hadn't blown thru my budget (again) earlier today.
    They are gorgeous

thank you. seriously means a lot as i take genuine pride in my vintage collection. mostly what i'm posting here lately is just pack pulled modern which obviously i get zero control over centering and flaws. however, these 51 cards that end tonight were obviously picked personally each for their own individual reasons. they aren't quick flips or anything and have been tucked away in my personal collection for years. getting back to those aarons, i have a couple 8s and an 8.5 and it stings a little just letting go of that psa 4. let's face it, its just as hard to find a psa 4 that looks like that vs an avg. psa 8.

i do one of these 50 card, 10 day auctions every year that start on thanksgiving night and run thru black friday, cyber monday and end the following sunday. not only do i think that's the premier dates that garner the most eyes but it also allows me to truly gauge the market w/o any outside influences such as shilled or fake listings. i will say, it's gets tougher and tougher every year to pick which 50 cards to let go though. right now the ones really kicking me are those two aaron's and even though it has the mk qualifier, the 51 mays.

anyways, appreciate the nod and my brief, unsolicited advertisement is officially over.

    You're welcome .
I would have guessed they came from a PC.

I'm still kicking myself for selling my centered BVG 4.5 Aaron about 7-8 years ago for $600 at auction. I had bought it raw.
I figured an upgrade would be easy someday, just more money, not A LOT more money.

I can relate to the sting as the time needed to fill a spot is excruciating

he does, but those are w/ grandpas cards too. along w the rest of the 79 trays and various unopened purchased from you! 😉

kept trying to push peeps to follow your lead in that last forum break for a reason. has always worked out well for me in the past. i mean, if buffett shows you that he's buying heavily on a stock, you may want to follow suit. the crisser, not so much.

I saw the Mays as well. Gorgeous card for the grade. Would've been hard for me to let that one go, unless of course you have another. B)

which card? most have been paid for. it's the refreshing thing about vintage. very little games or non-payments when compared to the modern counterparts.

was pleasantly surprised w just about every result. a couple records hit for the assigned grade. the hendos really surprised me, however and ironically neither of the three have been paid for yet. could be some nefarious activity going on w that card. the fact that these "apparently" shot up from being a $3-400 card to now being a $1500+ card was quite surprising.

You've got a ton of interesting items up on Ebay. How are you determining which of those golf cards gets slabbed or not? I was surprised to see so much ungraded, given the frequency of submissions.

  • maddux69maddux69 Posts: 2,147 ✭✭✭✭✭

I was going to go bid on the 54 Aaron, but never got the notification. :s IMO, that one was a steal for the grade.

very legitimate question. the honest answer is laziness mixed w/ previous experience. a lot of the golf items are pretty obscure. I know it would be an uphill battle to get them holdered. submitted several lots in the past, waited my time and a good chunk came back n9’d. and while I collect vintage (pre-tiger) golf cards, there’s not a lot do. the few souls out there that do, don’t really care about them being graded.

not sure if you read above, but i had to purchase a major golf collection solely to obtain about 8 rare cards that just never come up. to date, ive prolly only moved about 5% of the cards but more than happy w what’s been recouped. I keep offering to fly larkincollector out here to buy the rest. and besides, last thing I need is 20k more slabs showing up on the doorstep. the mrs. would kill me (again).

I learned that not only is there a great seller on eBay, but the Rickey Henderson rookies are now valued at around $1500. It was only a few months ago that they were about $500 for a PSA 9. A PSA 9 does mean a lot for a 1980 Topps card, but not so much for a 1990 Topps card, where one needs a PSA 10 for it to be of any real value.
