Dumpster Diving - Matthew Stafford

Maybe I've been a Lions fan too long and have been beaten into submission, but I like the risk/reward ration of Matthew Stafford rookies. They had a brief run before the season but have really cooled off as another season is burned down in Detroit. The Contenders PSA 10 RC was around $350-$400 and the last one sold for $250.
The upside is that I think he will certainly be traded this off season. The cap hit will be tough but since old lady Ford whacked the GM and coach, it looks like she is going for a total rebuild. My dream scenario is that he goes home back to Dallas. Stafford already sold his big house in Michigan so I think he is ready to move.

go dawgs.
I could see Atlanta being a second choice but I think the owner likes Matt Ryan.
Jerry Jones is 78 and he wants to be buried with one more SB ring. He needs to bring the prodigal son back home. I liked Stafford as the Lions QB, best we ever had, however the franchise is just going to waste the rest of his career.
Have watched him his entire career. Would love to see what he could do on a good team.
How about my Vikings?
If Jerry Jones wants to win then why wouldn't he sign Dak instead of bringing in someone like
Stafford who is in the twilight of a less than stellar career?
The prudent move for the Cowboys would be to franchise Dak one more year before committing $100M+ guaranteed. That would be $37.7M. Trading for Stafford would only cost $9.5M for 2021 and $12.5M in 2022. Jerry can use that money to buy some defensive players.
Stafford will be 33 at the start of the 2021 season, he is still in his prime. Dak would be 28 coming off a major injury.
Welcome to a similar dilemma the Vikings had when they decided to go after Cousins.
Once you get all that money committed to the QB and a couple of other great players, you had better have some very young and very good players that are making next to nothing, or you end up with big holes somewhere.
Finally caught up with the Vikings after last year and they let go of 6 defensive starters, then Hunter and Barr get season ending injuries and you end up with an entire different defense. They have given up as many points in 11 games as they did all of last year.
Cowboys have a lot of highly paid offensive players, they better draft well!
Unfortunately for Matt Stafford his entire career was spend on a team always rebuilding. His last years will be spent on a team rebuilding somewhere besides Detroit. Jacksonville or a Chicago. But I think Chicago takes Darnold.
"I spent 50% of my money on alcohol, women, and gambling. The other half I wasted.
I like Darnold RCs as well as a speculative bet. I picked up a couple PSA 10s yesterday for the price of one 2020 Prizm pack each. I live in LA so I saw a lot of Darnold at USC. I thought he was the best QB in 2018 but he had a turnover problem. I still think he can be turned around with a good coach.
Again Darnold's best asset is his cheap contract. I think a lot of teams would take him, he would be a perfect fit in Chicago. I think an outside shot would be Pittsburgh. I can see Darnold playing like Big Ben.
