If anyone saw the kick, it was a designed Squib I would imagine so that she would not get lit up on the return. Is she going to be used as a real kicker or is this just a feel good PR stunt?
As a PR stunt, I fail to see how this advances any gender equality issues. It was not a ¨real¨ play as she immediately jogged off the field after kicking.
If she is going to play, great. but she needs to really play. I am sure the team fears serious injury.

PR 100%
I also just read she was named the SEC special teams player of the week for her 30 yard kickoff...
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
Real desperation kicker. Their regular kicker was out for COVID and they had no backup. She's the only one on the depth chart for this week currently, but the regular kicker may be cleared and added back to the roster in time.
I recall reading that there were at least 2 guys on the team who had kicking experience. Do you think they will let her really kick off this week, or will she jog off immediately after a squib kick?

The head coach was fired one day after that game. I think he probably knew or suspected that he was getting the axe beforehand. So.......he used the young lady in question as a prop in a twisted joke. His parting gift to what is obviously a dysfunctional football organization.
All of the above are true statements. He made a mockery of college football and I hope he’s serving fries after his unemployment runs out.
"I spent 50% of my money on alcohol, women, and gambling. The other half I wasted.
I don't think they were going for PR when they fired the coach right after the game. Do you really want to highlight how awful your team is? The squib is within her skillset, a traditional kickoff, not so much (unless she somehow mastered it in the past week). I don't know who the others are with kicking experience on the team, but if it's your starting QB and top WR, you probably don't want to run them out on special teams.
I'll stick with this as a COVID desperation move and avoid the cynicism of assuming it was purely PR until proven otherwise.
That would clearly be a PR stunt, even though she was "only" co-player of the week.
"I just went in there, and I said exactly what I was thinking," Fuller recalled, according to ESPN's Courtney Cronin. "I was like, 'We need to be cheering each other on. This is how you win games. This is how you get better is by calling each other out for stuff, and I'm going to call you guys out. We need to be supporting one another.'"
Fuller added that she "was a little pissed off at how quiet everybody was on the sideline. We made a first down, and I was the only one cheering, and I was like, 'What the heck? What's going on?' And I tried to get them pumped up."
And believe it or not, Fuller said after her speech she "had coaches come up to me and say, 'I've been wanting to say that for awhile now.'" Vanderbilt lost the game 41-0.
Im sure all the guys on the team just loved that a player who has been involved in exactly one play for the entire season was given the opportunity to give a halftime speech in which said player admonished the team as if she were a part of it.
i am sure that was a very well received speech.
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
One play where they limited what she even tried to do because she couldn't even fully do the role she was plugged into.
Incidentally, they had her warming up kicking field goals before the game. The FGs she was kicking were 13 yards. You read that right. She was kicking from the 3.
Powerful leg. She was practicing for the only 3 points Vandy would score all day. Unfortunately she never got that chance.
"I spent 50% of my money on alcohol, women, and gambling. The other half I wasted.
The shortest possible FG is 18 yards, so there's no reason to "practice" something that can never happen. I wonder if somebody pranked her by setting up at the 3, and she didn't know how FGs work so she warmed up from there.
I'm guessing with a little practice, most of these collegiate varsity soccer ladies (especially at the D1 level) would be pretty decent FG kickers from inside 40 yards.

Very good analysis lol
that is hilarious. I hadnt even thought that a 13 yard FG was impossible. It gets even better.
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
The whole thing was a joke. Plain and simple.
I understand her 13 yarder came up a little short. In her defense she was kicking against the wind.

Dan Bailey could miss from any distance.
Yes, 4 out of 4 missed field goals in the game today. And last week Bailey missed on 2 PAT's. At this point the mental aspect of it all has got to be a factor....... probabaly going into the game today.
Not good.
