Liberia 25 Cents Coin Toning - Questions

Hello all.
I recently acquired this very cheap Liberia copper-nickel 25 cents coin. As you can see from the photos, it displays a fair bit of blue/aqua toning. This is particularly prominent on the reverse, and it is very appealing to the eye. What is the likely cause of this toning? I am aware that certain long-term storage conditions result in toning, and often the types of plastics or cardboards used can result in different types of toning. My guess is that the reverse has been in more prominent contact with the material inducing this toning than the obverse.
Really nice little coin and a cheap addition to my toned collection. Any input here will be met with interest.
Cheers!

Beautiful pics! I have seen that type and color of toning on coins I have owned that I picked up from collectors in England. They were all kept in British made albums of some kind.

Thank you! I'm always intrigued by the toning that can arise from different storage methods and materials. I spot some of your nice examples there. They're beautiful. I have a nice farthing on the way which I am sure will work its way onto here at some point!
Here is another example - my 1934 Mauritius 1/2 Rupee - George V:
Another beauty! Great pics, too!
