I'm surprised about the Colts, I didn't expect them to be any good this year.

I'm shocked about the NFC East. It's like watching a reality TV show fight, just a mess.

I’m happy it’s being played so far. I’m not at all suprised at my Pats, I predicted a 5-11 season so pretty much what I expected from them. I didn’t think Dallas was going to be as bad as they are and no way I thought Pittsburgh would be so good.

Early in the year someone on this board begged me to wager that the NFL season would be played. This was no surprise to me that the season is being played and a full season at that. The biggest businesses in the country remained unfazed by Covid. Walmart, Amazon and the NFL. With the money involved between the NFL revenue and Las Vegas it was a no brainer.

The biggest non-surprise is the 49ers. They are right where they belong. In last place.

Here’s a few things that surprised me.
NY Jets 0-10. Vegas predicted 7 wins. I saw their schedule and chose the under. No way I thought they’d be this bad.
Dallas. Vegas 10 wins. I had no idea how much Dak carried that team. Remember Big Ben went down last year and Tomlin still got 8 wins out of that team - AB and Bell. That was coach of the year stuff.
Cleveland ahead of Baltimore in the standings at 7-3. That’s really surprising.
The QB draft class of 2020. What a nice surprise to have 3 rookies playing this well.
Miami. Brian Flores has his team ready every week.

I'm thinking the Chiefs should get rid of Sammy Watkins. A good receiver when he's in there,
but he's usually hurt at least half the season or more. Just not worth it to have him around
    when he's always injured.

I'm surprised that Washington has a chance to win their division.
And with Alex Smith at the QB position now I think they have a good chance.
He's a veteran and had a lot of time off so every game now he's getting closer to being back to his high level of play.

I'm amazed at how good Justin Herbert is for the Chargers. That guy got thrust into the starting roll
right before the second or third game of the year and has been amazing.
The AFC west just might be the division with the best starting QB's top to bottom.

Too bad the Texans got off to such a bad start because they're playing some pretty good football now.
Watson is playing great, too bad they got rid of the best receiver in the game.

That was the knock on Watkins in Buffalo. Feet made of glass. It was an absolute shock when Buffalo traded him as he was one of two (Sean McCoy) good players in Buffalo. Fans were up in arms as they had questions about this young coach and new GM and the direction the team was heading. 3 years laters I don’t think anyone questions the direction or moves.

I just can't help but wonder, will Stafford and the Lions ever get over the hump, and make the playoffs? And the Falcons....

It looks like since his rookie year when he played all 16 games that since then he has missed
29 games in 6 years for an average of 4.83 missed games per year.
So he has missed almost two full seasons in the last six years, way too many.Time for the Chiefs
to get someone to replace him who isn't so injury prone.

The NFC West division has emerged as the best division in the league. Every team is strong and loaded with talent. The Rams are in first place. No surprise there.

The coming big surprise might just be the Cardinals in the Super Bowl. I wouldn't be surprised.

........Or the Seahawks in the Super Bowl. No surprise there.

...........or the Rams in the Super Bowl. Oh, and, what's that QB's name that plays for them? Never hear much about him.....

His last season in Buffalo about half the games he did play in he was hurt. I don’t think he’s been 100% most of his career. Buffalo traded up to take him. OBJ was taken after him without trading up. Poor management and poor draft choices is why Buffalo missed the playoffs for 20 years.

I've been on the record before stating that McVay made a mistake with Goff's initial development. I felt like that system they used to use, where Goff would get to the line of scrimmage quick and McVay would be breaking things down, hampered Goff's development. So that initial success didn't effectively translate. But McVay is a smart coach, and it looks like the Rams have figured things out. I expect them to continue to be competitive.

Rams are playing good football at the moment. All around they are the best team in their division. My only knock is they haven’t been consistent. Maybe with their play lately McVay has it figured out.
