Dan,
Great job on your 1969 set! Though, I always knew you were at my heels even before the Registry existed. Curiously, I wonder if other prominent collectors will join. There are many PSA 9 and PSA 10 common and star cards (low pops) that are unaccounted for in the inner circles that may be sitting in a cutting edge set. To date, I have not found out who is hanging on to the PSA 10 #1, #4, and #5 cards. Furthermore, I am now throughly confused if a #500 Mantle (yellow) or a #500 Mantle (white) exists in PSA 10. I'll see you at Chicago in August.

Thanks. I did add quite a few cards to my set. I've been very selective regarding which cards I submit, and this past submission I wasn't quite as selective. I guess at a $6 grading fee per card, it seemed that it made sense to get any cards graded. There are many graded "8" cards that I added that I'd still like to replace with better "8" examples like the Guisti and Granger to name a few (needless to say, if I can get them in a 9, all the better!). The centering on those cards is not great, but both had a shot at a 9 so that's why they were sent in. I could easily submit another 100 cards and get 8's, but I'm trying to only register well centered, high end 8's or 9's.
I'm looking forward to seeing you again at the National. I'm not sure how lucky we'll be with finding mint raw cards. Most of my favorite dealers who sold nice raw cards in the past have jumped on the graded card bandwagon. The Baseballcard Exchange, Joe Turrillo and several others come to mind. So I'm not keeping my expectations too high, but it will be great to see old friends and meet new ones.
I think they have the Yellow and White Mantle's reversed. In fact I'm almost positive. I'll be at the Nastional too. The 69'ers should all meet up. I'm staying at the Doubletree across the street from the Convention Center.
I dont know...can a 43 year old guy say......."When I get big, I hope to be just like you guys"!

Bob, Glad to hear that you'll be there. I'll be in Chicago Wednesday night through Saturday. Traditionally, Ron and I have dinner Thursday night and you are more than welcome to join us.
I'll be arriving on Thursday and leaving on Saturday afternoon. Lets make a plan.
I cant wait to get my submissions back from PSA. It should put me in the 50% range again.
Dan, way to go on the McDowell (#220) its a real tough one too. I have a super one. I bought it recently. I was hoping to 9 but no luck. Also the Cowan. Tough card.
I received the Shannon in 7 today. Very well centered. Its a borderline 8. 2 corners have touches. I've seen worse cards in 8 holders.
