I just realized that some Sacajawea dollar rolls are going for over $100 on eBay, I’m a bit shocked

I guess I just wasn’t paying attention, but recently after seeing someone post that slabbed toned proof 2012 one I poked around a bit on eBay and certain dates of the Sacajawea coins are going for over $100 a roll. I was expecting to be just a little over face value. What’s up with that? Is this series really in that much demand?

Many were not issued for circulation and the only way to get them aside from sets was in rolls or bags from the mint.
If they are selling for $100 I am a bit surprised, too, though.
The Sacajawea dollar is the only modern coin design that kinda/sorta good. I guess there are a couple nice looking quarters too

Yeah I really like the regular 2000-2008 design. Too bad they messed with it. Almost wish they used the eagle in one of the new bullion redesigns. The new mint stuff just looks funny to me.

It’s not just eBay either. I just poked around at coin sites and found that the 2008, 2010, 2011 and 2012 are often $100 or higher. For example:
