What to do with duplicates?

New member- happy to be aboard. This may be a "rookie" question, but what is the best way to go about exchanging duplicate coins to expand my collection, especially when its not a "rare" item. For example I have a couple 1944 wheat pennies. Nothing special, circulated condition. Obviously going to a dealer would just be a waste of his/her time.
Any suggestions or insights would be appreciated. Thanks!

Great Collections. While they auction many super rare coins, they also auction coins as low as $25.
My collecting “Pride & Joy” is my PCGS Registry Dansco 7070 Set:

Welcome to the forum!
You could check your area for a coin club, a great place to trade & talk to other collectors.
Some coin shops have a bid board that you can put your coins on.
Facebook groups might be a place to check also.
