Let me start off By sharing this link

Here is what I don’t understand. Why are people paying for this? Are they willing to gamble knowing that chances are it is fake? Does it look real to anyone on this post?
I am a Jordan rookie buyer and have owned a few in my time. The most recent a sticker in PSA grade 9-I’ve posted about it before.
But I don’t understand why non graded examples command any money at all!!!
Please help this old guy figure this out.

I don't collect basketball, so I don't know what a Jordan fake looks like.
A PSA 8 goes for $8,000.00, so I could see someone taking a chance. Looks like 6 people were willing to bid over $200.00, with 4 of them willing to go over $600.00.
Personally, unless it's graded, I would avoid this card, along with Gretzky and Rose rookies, any Mantles and pretty much anything worth more than I am willing to throw out the window.
Plus his "PSA is backed up" story is a load of garbage, you can get a card graded quickly if you spend the money, and this card will cost a lot to grade either way.
Stupid people, people with WAY too much money, or someone who might like to gamble (see first two examples) all might be willing to take a risk of $7-800 to get several thousand.
I am sure it happens from time to time.
Ebay usually stands behind buyers. I don't think I would have a problem "risking" $800 because I know how to tell the difference between a real Jordan rookie and a fake if I have the card in person. If I get the card in person and it is a fake I can just send it back and get my money back.

So you’re feeling is this was an authentic Jordan? The back looked so poorly printed on top.
As for eBay standing behind buyers. The seller was not saying it was authentic. So I don’t think there is much recourse guaranteed.
we're talking ebay/paypal here. returns aren't hard at all regardless of what's stated. good policy in very rare occasions however abundantly abused by scammers, shillers and other nefarious folk.
Wow. That’s an eye opener to me. So what you’re saying is there is literally no risk ever because if it’s fake you can get a refund regardless???
That’s a shocker.
ehh. what i'm saying is don't going around to every quasi-scammer listing thinking you can pull the trigger w no recourse, rather do your homework to avoid wasting your own time all while promoting these shady listing practices.
ebay/paypal will boot you for abusing the return policies. problem is, it has to be borderline obscene to get red flagged.
Fair enough. Which again leads me to
My original post. Is this just someone with $800 willing to gamble?
sounds like a match made in heaven.
but honestly, i don't know. i don't care and i don't waste my time on "found in grandpa's attic" listings.

For the same reason people list something like this and know that someone will likely buy it: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1965-Topps-Joe-Namath-PSA-6-Rookie-Card-Jets-122/184537738007?hash=item2af74e6b17:g:H08AAOSwV0VfsX4a
Even though it clearly says 'reprint' on the bottom left hand corner of the back?

There is , I suppose, the possibility it did not really sell legitimately and someone was a shill bidder (if I’m saying that right)
I mean, there's a reason they didn't include "reprint" in the title or description at all. They're hoping to sucker someone. And I've learned never to underestimate how badly suckers get played.
Buyers beware.
