I notice when you post a tune the image that shows up sometimes doesn't have any info of the song or artist, so to avoid confusion I'm adding the info ...........
So much good music and many in this thread; too many to browse them all. I have many songs I like, but I'll go with Blue Oyster Cult because they were the first band I ever saw in concert. My main memory was the song Godzilla where the drummer put on a big paper mache head and with the strobe black lights it was quite surreal for my 70's teenage self standing on a chair holding up a lighter and such. It was a very good time indeed.
Okey Doke - "SCRIPT" by Marillion with Hogarth.............. had to get my Marillion tune in for the night - "overdosed on sentiment and pride"..............ENJOY
When I was a young idiot - saw a couple heavy hitters at the old Cleveland Stadium. The stadium seats held about 75,000 then you had the infield, and SRO areas - so lets say 100,000.
Pink Floyd over 2 hours, Genesis about 3 hours. Look it up on Youtube - I think Floyd called it "Echos by the lake" as Municipal stadium was right on the lake!
Genesis was a trip seeing them in a huge stadium. So different than seeing them in a 20,000 person coliseum!!
So I have no idea what they played back then but here's a few favorites of each.
OK , here's the deal Jack . Phil was hired as a drummer when the original Genesis drummer Chris Stewart was kicked out of the band around in 1967/68. So phill was then the new drummer and had small backup vocal parts - when Peter Gabriel quit to go solo, Phil stepped in as the lead singer - and there we have it.
The album "And Then There Were 3" - were Phil, Banks, & Rutherford!
OH - EDIT, - off of the and then there were 3 album - "The Lady Lies" - is probably the best - I know my music better than I do my coins -
Comments
I got to admit - I ain't an Ozzie fan.............. But now Scorpions are another deal ........

@AnnW That’s one of the best rock songs ever! I’m jealous, my first concert was Aerosmith.
@CoinscratchFever I agree, it is a pretty great song, though I think Aerosmith is good too.
Got to admit - 5 of the best days of my life.....................

Here's a Fact finding question - How did Phil become the lead singer for Genesis????? And what did their album "And then there were 3" represent?

There was an epic Floyd show here years ago with the sky lit up with a lightning show. Talk about a trip…
