It pays to visit the auctions at Yahoo.

I picked this up recently from a Yahoo auction. Thought it had a chance of FS, but MS66....oh my!!
The impossible just takes longer.

    Nice "hit"!

There has been some debate recently whether PCGS should recognize the ty 1 1938 steps using a different standard than the ty 2 coins. If they do, my research suggests upwards of 15%-20% of all of the 1938(d) nickels presently in holders might regrade as "FS". This would make the coins relatively common in FS (even MS67FS would be common). Of course, without seeing this coin in person it is near impossible to determine if this is a "special" coin that could possibly grade FS even using a ty 2 standard. image Wondercoin.

Are you saying you picked this up raw? Pop 1/0. I have heard the 38's were one tough year for FS.
