When I heard of his passing, all I could think was "dammit 2020! Alex will be missed for sure, me and my wife have been loyal viewers for years.
From what I read online, Alex was taping shows all the way until Oct. 29th and the shows with him hosting will be airing until least Christmas. Watching these episodes will be like watching a movie where you know exactly what the sad, tragic ending will be. His last Jeopardy episode will be very hard to watch. RIP Alex.

We watched the Jack Benny show on CBS every week.
And he WAS, and will always be, 39. Trust me.

When he was on a stamp the first class postage rate was either 22 or 23 cents, and that was what they valued it at, but at the time the two-ounce rate was 39 cents, and I so wanted the Post Office to go for that!!!!!!

He had been signed to do the movie "The Sunshine Boys" with his dear old friend George Burns, but before they started filming he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and was gone in about three weeks. Walter Matthau replaced him in the movie, but nobody could replace Mr. Benny!

Jack Benny always insisted he was 39, as a feigned vanity joke, as long as he was in show business. Being a notorious tightwad was also part of his schtick.
Jeopardy was always a fun show, trying to see how much of the esoteria you could get right compared with the contestants (and always falling far short, except in the "Numismatics" Category )
Alex Trebek was always the steady, supportive, unflappable but kindly guiding hand. It's hard to imagine the show without him.
