Rare TOPPS HERITAGE Flip Stock Rookie found!

Found a couple hundred dollar SSP Rookie Card of JT Realmuto while organizing my card collection!

It is a SSP Flip Stock/Reverse Stock/Glossy Back/Wood Grain Front, with only 5 copies of each card in existence for the 2015 year. (back when there really were only 5 copies of each!)

These are especially hard to catch, especially in the 2015 Heritage high number set......which is the first year they did these I believe?!?

SSP is on the right and then on the bottom in pics.

:)

    Thanks, bud!

I had to look at it and then compare the 2 for hours before I was absolutely certain hahaha. Some of these are sooooo hard to tell!!!!

I've only recently dabbled with the modern Topps product, so I may be misinformed, but I thought the variations were easily identifiable by the code numbers printed on the backs. Is this not the case with the flip stocks?

these are one of the tougher ones to spot. they shoulda just serial numbered them. i think in last years product they messed up inserting them. several reports of people pulling 3-4 of the same player outta a single box when 4 had already been posted or sold. basically blowing the myth of only being 5 outta the water.

another problem is trying to sell or buy one based off pics online. not really my thing but if it were i would only buy or sell after it was graded.

regardless, congrats op! like ya said, the 2015 flip stocks really do seem to be ssp /5. finding a rc one in your own box after all this time is the real cherry!

How much do you think it's worth raw in pristine condition? I'm thinking of asking $200...

I ripped an absolute ton of Retail in 2017 and then a few cases of Retail 2018 HHN. Mixed in 4 hobby boxes each year. Oddly enough I have never gone through the cards to find these rarities. I saved them all in 5k monster boxes, so I guess that could be fun at some point.

My impression is that people care less and less about the cool variations as time goes on. So not sure how much it’s wortho my time to dig through 10000 2017 and 2018 cards at this point.

Just checked my 2019 flip stock (i found it from the different texture while sorting), and it is the same product code as the base commons.
