Do people ever take coins out of PCGS/NGC holders and send them in again for grading?

I was reading through my Red Book and I noticed that with many coins even an upgrade by 1 grade can have a huge impact on the value of a coin. In some cases going from say MS64 to MS65 results in the coin being valued at quadruple what it would’ve been if it stayed MS64.

So if someone buys a coin that’s been graded already but looks like it should be graded higher would it make sense to send it in again?

It is a common practice that is done on a regular basis. ;)

Avoid doing it unless you have a very good eye for grading.
They can come back a grade lower

Oh wow I didn’t know that. I’ve never even submitted anything to PCGS or NGC. 😆

I’ve always wanted to submit a couple of my coins but the paperwork looks way too confusing.

    Unfortunately for me.
