A Rather Decent Halfcrown, Perhaps as Good as You Will See: 1839 Proof

IMO undergraded, but GTG. I will say apparent hairlines on neck are in relief, and NOT scrapes or scratches.

Just judging by your tone I'm going to say it's graded 64.

I tried to use the equivalent grading standard as for a LSH or Morgan - no hairlines on 20x magnification. Ex- Baldwin's basement if that means anything to you. It did get better than Cameo I will tell you though.

A very nice looking coin! I'm going to guess it was graded MS64 but should be MS65.

It graded PCGS 63 Deep Cameo

I was shocked at the low grade. I sent another halfcrown that came back low and pushed back from a 58 to 63 later.

I think what got me was blind tested against a 67DC the OP coin was judged equal - not my grade.
