Dealer is Boycotting?

I came across a coin, on MA Shops, in which I was interested. But then, on his page I noticed in bold red letters, "ATTENTION! No sale, no shipping to ISRAEL!" Vendor is a Stephan Knopik. Wondering if his issue is about shipping or politics. I've never seen this before, on a vendor's site.

I can recall seeing multiple folks state that they would not ship to various regions of the world, but cannot recall anyone listing only Israel. I always suspected it had more to do with losses in shipping than politics. Have you reached out to the dealer?

I’ve never heard of a dealer letting politics get in the way of a deal, so I doubt that’s it.

Stephan is a very straight dealer. And, I am surprised that he would not ship.
just send him an email and he will tell you why.
He must have his reasons not to ship to Israel any more.
I came across numerous ebay sellers from the US who steadfastly refuse to ship to Canada.
    go figure....

Stephan Knopik did reply. In part, he writes: "It just so happens that I lost a lot of shipments that went to Israel. All registered shipments that never reached their recipient. So I had to make a decision that wasn't easy for me. But neither I nor my insurance company can accept this loss in the long term."
I am comfortable with the answer, so I happily made a purchase!

Thats interesting I sold stamps to Israel a while back which never arrived .After like 2 months I gave up and refunded. He told me he would let me know if they ever arrived but so far nothing. April to November is approaching Italy levels of sluggishness .

Its depressing because I will probably put no overseas shipping on the rest of them when I list them

Not every country is the same. Maybe, just maybe, they never left the USPS? Just saying...
did you send your stamps tracked?

no tracking its not cost effective and outside the country is pointless anyway. When I did do that it would just show stuff reaching new jersey then nothing.

Scraping new jersey off the east coast would improve mail delivery to be sure. I believe there is a similar quantum postal black hole on the west coast , is it some place that begins with San.............. ?

Like the old roach motel commercials packages check in but they don't check out :D

It's a shame there's not a better way. Between "lost" packages, buyers who want you to lie on customs forms and eBay/PayPal policies that dictate how sellers must ship, it's just not worth the trouble to ship out of the country anymore.

I currently live in Israel and can attest to the slowness of the service and the fact that even domestic mail at times takes over a week (State the size of NJ). I have yet to lose a package yet there is always a first time!

I mailed one thing to Israel this year. It took about 5 days to go thousands of miles to get into Israel and another 2-3 weeks before being delivered.

I suggest some of you ebayer's try ebay's International Delivery Service. It's $13.00 to most counties, even downunder! It's a little cheaper than the USPS. The big bonus is it comes with up to $100 insurance! Threre's a ton of countries that the Global Shipping Program won't service. It is very, very slow though.
