If you like all original gold and old holders, this is the type 1 gold dollar for you. This better date New Orleans issue is graded AU55 but I really see no actual wear. It is ranked as the second scarcest O mint, behind the 1850. It has a couple hairlines but the strike is very good, other than some weakness in the hair detail, which is typical of the date. Color is outstanding with lots of underlying luster.
I have owned this coin for over 25 years and it has never been submitted to CAC. I have to believe it would gold bean, at least AU58.

    Hope someone snags this! I like mine, but this is a bit better!

    WTB... errors, New Orleans gold, and circulated 20th key date coins!
